Multiple food allergies?
Hi! What are your experiences with more-than-one food allergy? I'm wondering... my baby is allergic to milk and friends told me about other allergies to other foods. What happened to you? Did your baby show other allergies when growing? Which signals did you see?

Multiple food allergies
My daughter is allergic to milk/soy/wheat/eggs/oat/peanuts and dogs/cats. She slowly progressed at about 2 mos of age w/ezcesma like rashes and by 5-7 mos old she looked like a burn victim. The dermatologist didn't even suggest that allergies could be the culprit. Only w/my own research did I determine that she should be tested and the rest is hx 1.5 yrs later. Once we took her off her formula and removed the pets she improved immediately just days later & then we got her on Neocate Junior and now Neocate One + and she is doing fantastic. Some days are a struggle I hink mostly with the pet dander (staff and other kids @ daycare) but we go on one day at a time.

Good Luck!

Thank's Trisha! Me too i'm searching information and often I have the terrible feeling I'm getting more expert than doctors I meet, suggesting them several "future actions" that could be done... and he often choose one... good that there is people like you that helps a lot!

My son is 1 month old and has been diagnosed with a milk and soy aversion, He was pooping blood and also spit up blood. My doctor said he needed to stop breastfeeding for 6-8 weeks so I could get all of the dairy and soy out of my diet. I am still pumping and freezing because i would like to continue breastfeeding. I am very frustrated because I feel that this formula is not the best thing for him although he is no longer passing blood in his stool he still seems very fussy and spitting up. We are seeing a GI specialist to see what the next step is. my problem with all of this is I want to breastfeed him now because I feel the formula doesn't have all of the nutrients it should.

yes! just like trisha...thank you so much for your post...i ditto your experience w finding my own info i wish i had so much sooner!! my son has had eczema since about 4mos old...at first it was just very dry skin...but at 4mos they told us it was eczema and had us change his milk to soy and then to nutramigen...there was no change so we were referred to a dematologist...who prescribed ointments that helped but my son still experienced flare ups and sleepless itchy nights..we went back to soy...and had been on it until his 1yr check up when the pediatrician finally ordered a RAST blood test...so...

Kathryn Emslie-Do you have a Whole Foods like store nearby? That is your best bet. Unless you live in a small town, even local supermarkets should have soy yogurt and rice noodles. I have bought stuff online just ot find out my little one doesnt like them, so good luck
