Must my child undertake a year of 'challenge' in order to verify if intolerance to cow's milk protein exists. Obviously it will be undertaken in a hospital but.... What is involved exactly?

Kind Doctor, I would also like to know if cow's milk allergy affects or slows the child's growth and if intolerance to cow's milk also includes soy milk.

Hi, our baby is now 7 months old and has allergies for Egg and Dairy. He had severe eczema before we removed milk from mum’s diet. We have tried him on Neocate but he also reacted to this. We have just tried “Karicare Soy – infant formula for all ages” and again had a bad reaction. Baby is waking up every 3 hours, 4 if we are lucky. Can you recommend a formula as Mum has not had a nights sleep in 7 months. Thanks.

I breastfeed my 3 month old. He was diagnosed with the cows protein allergy, so I have cut out anything with dairy.(I had to do it with my first son and it worked)My son now has very slimey or I guess you could say mucussy yellowish brown poop. Ive had test run to see about the mucus and the results came back minimal. Too me something is wrong. It is not seedy like normal breast fed baby poop is. I dont know what to think it has been over a month now. He is not fussy at all and he sleeps great. If you have any ideas please let me know.Thak you,Jeanine Rogers

My daughter has been diagnosed with a milk allergy because of her skin rashes and a pretty bad diaper rash (which the Dr. said is nothing to worry about), but her dietician gave us some Neocate because she thinks the diaper rash could be a milk allergy. How do we know for sure if she has a milk allergy?She has always been breastfed exclusively until the last few months. She has not gained much weight and the dietician has been having us put butter, whipping cream and whole milk in all of her foods. She was taken off baby food a few months ago also, because it does not contain enough calories.We have had alot of problems getting her to eat anything and now this. We would really like to know if she really has a milk allergy before putting her through anything else.Also we did give her one serving of the Neocate last night with supper. She was so hyper afterwords. Not like herself at all. She even went to bed 2 1/2 hours later then usual. It was like she was on a high, and of course this worried us. So now we not sure about this Neocate.

My son who is 3 1/2 months old has been switched to Neocate few days ago. He had blood in his stool after being on Alimentum for 1 months. He refuses to drink it. When he tastes it he starts crying and refuses to drink.What can I do about it ? Is there something I can add to make the taste better? Also, is it possible that he is allergic to Neocate as well??

my baby is 15 weeks old i have been countless number of times to my doctor because my baby is really unsettled on his formula his poo is frothy and it stinks like acid he is in constant pain with it bringing his legs up and vomits quite abit of his milk up he is full of wind has always got a snort when he is asleep and when awake you canhear the mucus in his nose and when he cries you can hear it on his chest my doctor referred me to childrens outpatients where the paediatrician told me he had heartburn which quite frankly i was appaled at i am putting a lactase enzyme in his bottles which seems to calm him down abit with that we are not up till 4/5 am in morning but he is still fusyy and inconsolable i dont know if he has an intolerance to milk or what i would like to try him on saoy milk but sum 1 has told me that soya milk has been related to death i dont know what to do im at my wits end now the paediatrician refuses to test him i have to keep phoning e just thinks he has no allergy so wont test him thanx

My 3 month old son was diagnose with a Milk Protein Allergy at 1 month. I breastfeed him and still do, cut all dairy out and now he is still having issues which i think is between the breads or eating out thats causing him to be this way. He is really really collicy. He will cry so hard and tears run down his face hes in pain. He cant have bowel movements but they arent hard so hes not constipated drs. say. if it wasnt for have bowel movements hed be one happy baby...is their ANYTHING I can do? I want to get him onto formula but tried every bottle and wont take to them or even a pacifier. He sleeps 1 hour through the night and hes up crying from 5am-9am. its horrible!!! I really need help and im not getting the help i need from drs or family and friends. PLEASE if you know anything i could do to help him have a easier time to have bowel movements or maybe tips on how to get him to take a bottle....Thanks Kay

23rd Feb '08.Dear Doctor, I am the monther of 1 year old baby girl. Due to lack of breast milk i stared giving cow's milk from the fourth month onward to my baby. Now she is suffering from childhood ashma. we consulted many doctors but there was no cure at all. day by day she is unable to sleep at night and she is very much irritated during night only. I think this is beacause I give her Cow's milk when she go to sleep. Recently one docotor advice me to substitue soyavitta with cow's milk. how far this is effective. your valuable suggestion are waiting.thanks in advance.

My daughter 3 months of age was put on neocate for for milk allergy, she still has one mucousy stool a day is this normal? she's been on the neocate for 6 days
