Question

My daughter has been on Neocate for six months (she is now eleven months old). She has severe allergies to dairy and eggs (confirmed by RAST and skin tests). We have attempted to introduce solids to her diet with no luck. She has had violent physical reactions (vomiting lasting for hours and diarrhea lasting for days) to things like rice cereal, sweet potatoes, bananas and peas. Her skin tests for these foods were negative. They have taken her off all solid food and are planning an endoscopy in a few weeks, to hopefully diagnose the cause of these reactions. I understand that there could be many possible causes for her symptoms, but I am trying to do some research and am wondering if you could provide me with some of the possible, what I assume would be GI related, disorders.

My son is almost 13 months. He tested positive to milk, egg and peanuts when we did RAST at 7months of age. He was breastfed until 10 months, but his eczema was so severe (even though I had an extremely eliminated diet) I quit breastfeeding. We started him off on soy formula, which he did great for a while, except for a little (but persistent) eczema around the mouth area. Now, at 13 months, I tried some organic soy formula, and went back to Isomil - (I also gave him some tofu and soybean paste soup) and he started pooping 8-10 times a day(it doesn't seem like diarreah because his stool is pretty firm. sometimes loose, but not watery). it's been six days. No other symptoms of illness - no fever, and he plays fine. Pediatirican recommended just giving him oral electrolyte for 24 hours. My pediatrician and i am starting to wonder if he's developed allergies/intolerance to soy now. When he was younger, I tried nutramigen and he would NOT take it. It smelled and tasted nasty. I wonder if Neocate tastes as good as soy formula. Will my son take it? And will it help?
I have a four month old son. When he was born I was brestfeeding and would prejectile vomit, had a rash and would cry all the time. The doctor took him off breast milk and tried infamil with iron, same thing would happen. So then he tried lactofree and then soy, the same thing. Now he is on Alimentum and he is getting worse. Now we have bloody diarrhea and he is losing weight. We have now swtiched doctors and the new doctor is sending him to a specialist in Orlando, FL to evaluate. We do know that he has GERD, but the doctor thinks that there is more. He has been on neocate for the 1 day. Do you think that formula will help him? I do not know much about it, except that it is very expensive.
will they do allergy tests on a 7 month old and how?
