Healthy Times Soy v. soy toddler drink? Soymilk ok?
My son was diagnosed with a milk allergy (along with other allergies) at 3 months. I had a feeling something was wrong as he was spitting up a lot, gassy, cramping, etc. Finally, I found blood in his stool. He has been breastfed exclusively at home and when I returned to work, I pumped. (Yes, that means no dairy for me either. I miss it.)
Now at 13 months, he is doing well and takes about 1 or 2 bottles of Healthy Times Soy formula at daycare if I didn’t bring enough breast milk. That one seemed the best. Organic, easy to find. On the weekends, if I am at the store or something, my husband gives him fortified soymilk in a bottle. Is that ok? When should I move him off of soy formula and onto soy Toddler Drink? Is there a difference or is it just marketing? I am concerned he will not get the vitamin D or calcium he needs. He is a good eater now, but if he starts to listen to his older brother he may decide that what he is eating isn’t so cool after all. Big brother is very picky – with no food allergies.
