My 1 year old daughter has broken out with facial hives heavily around her chin and mouth and a few on neck/chest after having her face wiped with a paper towel that had milk on it at 11 months, once after 2 bites of plain yogurt at 11-1/2 months, and after rubbing a drop of milk on her chin at 12-1/2 months. These have been her only milk experiences. I documented the last 2 instances with photo's and the doctor said no testing was required because she obviously has a dairy allergy. She said not to feed her any dairy (giving examples of sour cream, cottage cheese, ice cream) but that I didn't need to become a label reader and hopefully she would outgrow it. She said we'd try to give her dairy again around age 2. I feel uneasy with just waiting until she's 2. Do you think I should consult a allergist for more specific advice on testing her so I know if I should be aggressively reading labels, etc.?
My son (3 month old) is on Neocate for 5 days now, and had 2 small clayish black/greenish poops the first day, nothing on the second, and 2 very watery, yellowish/greenish poops the last days. Is this normal? I add a tb of rice cereal to each 4oz bottle also.
Hello, my six-years-old daughter has several food intolerance to milk, potatoes, wheat and other food not clearly identified yet. I am living in France. She used to drink Neocate for new born ( the same as Neocate LCP) and now she has to change. I have bought a Neocate called in France "Neocate Advance" but including as first ingredient " maltodextrin ". So it would be very helpful if you could help me with those two questions:- Looking at the ingredients ( maltodextrin ....), I wonder if the milk sold in france is not "Neocate Active" despite called Neocate Advance.- This maltodextrin worries me. Me daughter seems to react to several cereals. I have been said ( by SHS International Limited in UK) it is corn but SHS also said the LCP formula also includes corn. Is this true? In that case, she will not react to corn maltodextrin as there is always some corn in the LCP.Many thanks for your help to a lost mother.
