I am not sure if this is a
Food Allergy or a stomich issue going on. I have a 1 month old baby girl. We started her out on Enfamil with Iron that caused her to get acid diareah all the time and she had a diaper rash that just would not go away. Then we tryed Enfamil Prosobee that caused the same thing to happen. So then we switched her to Enfamil Neutramigin that is Enfamil's
Hypoallergenic formula and that caused her to brake out all over down her legs up her private areas inside her butt and then she started projectile vomitting. Now we have her on Neocate and she seems to be doing so much better but now she cant poop we are going on 48 hours without a bowel movement. Do you have any suggestions on what to do?
My 23 month old son has soy induced
enterocolitis. He recently had a
food challenge that he failed and was very ill, with severe
vomiting, etc. Are there tests that can be done before we would test him again to determine his readiness, and if not what might be a save time tabletable to wait to challenge him again?
My son is 5 months old. From last 3 months he have really bad body rash, demtologist say its a
eczema and allergy specialist got the
IGE and RAST done on him...We are using STERIODS on him since 2 moths, hate it but if we try stop using it rash comes back. He got 657 kU/L and below food alergies:-RAST Test, Allergy Results:- Allergen, Wheat 15.60 kU/LAllergen, Rice <0.10 kU/LAllergen, Milk (COW) 9.19 kU/LAllergen, Egg White 15.60 kU/L Allergen, Oat 10.60 kU/LAllergen, Chickpea 2.68 kU/LAllergen, Lentin 3.48 kU/LAllergen, Peanut 6.12 kU/LAllergen, Shrimp <0.10 kU/LAllergen, Corn 3.74 kU/LAllergen, Soybean 2.02 kU/ L Before I was 100% breastfeeding him, but allergy speciallist said to try eleminating my diet, which cause so much stress and less milk production. Then finally after all the drama i switched him to alimentum..rash got little better for 2 weeks (also using steriod cream) but came back again. then we decided to use RTF alimentum because it doenst have corn but felt like he had stomach ache with it...got so cranky.. His allergy specialist scared me by saying to take him to UCSF to get checked if he has any kind of hyper syndrome...dont know what to do ecept being more stressed. And said because he has so much high
IGE, he might always stay itchy. HATE IT.Finally last week we changed him to NEOCATE, we are on second tin. RASH looks same, we are still using steriods (Dont want to use at all). Need big help and support...i am so stressed about my 5 month.. feels like i will go into depression. Dont know what to do. Any help? Will neocate help his skin? Will we have to keep on using steriods (Cutivate for the boday and destnite for face)? Will we have to keep on giving him bnydral? PLS help me i feel like shit here.
My 1 yr old has been diagnosed with gluten and
casein intolerance,
IgE mediated egg allergy and we have been told to avoid soy for him. I breast fed up until this point, but am ready to wean. Neocate was suggested, but I don't know if Junior or 1+ is more appropriate. Since he doesn't have
malabsorption issues, it seems that 1+ is most appropriate, but it will also be more expensive given the individual serving packages. Are there plans to offer 1+ in a bulk container? Would it be appropriate to use the junior?Thank you.
Hello: My 1 year old has EE. We are attempting to transition him from breast milk to Neocate. We gave him a bottle of 1 oz Neocate Junior unflavored and 4 oz of breast milk. He refused it and did not eat anything for 12 hours. Finally I had to nurse him. Do you have any suggestion on how to transition him to the Neocate? Is there a flavor that babies coming off of breast milk seem to prefer? Is it possible to obtain samples of the flavors before we buy a case?Sincerely
My 9 month old son is allergic to Milk, Eggs, soy and wheat. We havebeen using an
amino acid based formula for about 6 weeks. Hestill has severe ecaema on his face and neck. I feed him babyfood. Do you think baby food could be causing his skin breakouts.I try to only give him vegtables and fruit with some oatmeal or rice cereal for breakfast. I hae also been giving him some baby food with meat like Apples and Chicken. Are babiesevery allergic to the acid based formula?
My pcp tld me to take Magnesium Oxide for Migraine relief. He also referred me to a Alergsist for alergy shots. I have been on alergy shots off and on all my life. I also have sinusitis. My alergist told me I should go off migraine medications as they interfere with the shots and may be unsafe. Does this hold true for Magnesium Oxide and Quercetin?
My daughter is three moths old and was diagnosed with milk intolerance at one month. We tried soy but she developed eczama on her face. We then switched to a
hypoallergenic formula which she has been on for over a month. Recently She has been fussing at her bottles, having lots of gas and now has developed
diarrhea for three days. My question is this: Can she develop an intolerance to the hypollergenic formula even if she has been on it for over a month? Or is this something else. Her diarrhea is only once a day but it is watery and has no blood in it. Thank you
is neocate covered by insurances?
My daughter turned 2 in April. She was breastfed for 6 months, then had formula until age 1. At one we gave her whole milk (and sometimes 2%). She didn't have any problems with milk until fairly recently. I'd say around June (2 months ago) we noticed she seemed to get real dark, smelly, liquid poop diapers when she would drink milk. We stopped giving her milk for awhile and she seemed to do better. But she would still get those type of diapers occasionally. We had still been giving her yogurt and cheese. It was weird, though, because sometimes she would be fine with yogurt and cheese, and sometimes she would have the
diarrhea. We switched to Lactaid (
lactose free milk) and she seemed to do ok with that. But still we hadn't cut out all cheese and yogurt. And she would still ocassionally (maybe once every 7-10 days) get the diarrhea. The other day we were out of Lactaid milk and she was crying for a glass of milk, so we gave her some. This was in the evening. The next day she had a really big, dark, smelly bm that came out of her diaper. So I think it is related to the milk. My question is, how do I go about finding out what she can and cannot eat. My friend told me to cut out all dairy for 2 weeks, then try the Lactait for a week and see how she does. If she is fine, then try milk and see if she has a reaction. Then I'll know if it is lactose or dairy she is allergic to. What do you suggest for finding out what she's allergic to? And if I cut out all dairy for 2 weeks like the friend suggested, does that mean no eggs either? What about bread or pancakes that have milk in them? It would be very helpful to have a timetable of what I should cut out when, and for how long, and in what order I should try reintroducing them. And is this common for her to develop an allergy now, when she was fine for 2 yrs?
